Inside Time - The National Newspaper for Prisoners Published by New Bridge

Every three months, 27,000 copies of Inside Time are sent to the nation's prisons and special hospitals and to other readers with a special interest. Now in its tenth year, this national newspaper for prisoners has become an institution. It is valued for the information it provides, the platform it offers for prisoners' views and the information and news not easily accessible elsewhere.

The 20-page quarterly continues to feature a mix of items:

  • the popular 'Mailbag' column (1,400 letters received and 130 published in 2000)
  • news items
  • question-and-answer legal page
  • competitions and crossword
  • comment and analysis
  • interviews
  • book reviews

Over the last few years we also published regular contributions from Stephen Shaw, the Prisons Ombudsman, and Professor David Wilson, academic and former prison governor.

Editorial team: Eric McGraw (Director New Bridge and author), John Bowers (ex-prisoner and writer) and Rachel Billington (author, writer and journalist)
